Teething, Thanksgiving & Bobcats Game

Believe it or not, Jackson is getting more teeth :) He is getting his molars which his doctor said usually come in around 18 months or so...but not for Jackson...hence the drool on his shirt :)
He thought it was fun to sit in the plastic bin with some of his toys...oh, and yes, his hair is out of control again. So he got another haircut the day before Thanksgiving.
Love his expression :)
Jackson's hair can get out of control after his naps
After our Thanksgiving meal, we went to the park. Thought this was a cool picture that Walt took.
Our happy boy
This looks like a forced grin :)
Walt showing Jackson how to ride the whale.
At first Jackson was a little unsure, but then he decided it was fun!
Good times at the park!
So fun!
Our big boy about to go down the slide
It was just the three of us for Thanksgiving, but our friends stopped by on the way back from their meal with family friends. So we got a picture of our friend Sutton. We enjoyed our visit with the Murrs!
I hate that this isn't a clear picture, but Walt and Jackson were hanging out downstairs while I was upstairs. I came down to find Jackson walking around in his onesie and his slippers! Quite the look :)
Walt is sharing some season Bobcat tickets with some people from work. I tried to tell him that this wasn't very practical for parents of a one year old and that he was going to have to get people to go to the games with him. But Jackson and I went with him to the first game. He did great, although as you can imagine he did not last very long. I don't think Jackson and I will be invited back again :)
I love the little grin on his face...I can almost see him thinking...can you believe all this...wow :)
I hate that this picture wasn't clear, but was just so glad that someone offered to take our picture!
Jackson passing the time by reading a book.
Do you see the look of confusion / concern on his face when they dimmed the lights to introduce the team? It was super noisy. Thankfully he decided it was ok.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Low Key Week

Believe it or not...I actually didn't take many pictures this week. Well, actually...it's probably more accurate to say that I didn't "keep" many pictures this week. Jackson is a very active little boy and it is getting harder and harder to capture him on camera. Most of my pictures are of the back of his head :)
-
Jackson had another play date this week and he had fun. He is also doing better in the church nursery now that we have switched services. It seems he was not a fan of the early service (i.e. the lady in the early service). She was the nicest lady, but she always tried to hold him and that didn't work out too well. At the 9:30am service, they let him play and he seems to do really well.
-
Jackson all bundled up to go outside.
I wish this was a little clearer, but these days I take what I can get :)
He looks like a big boy, but also so tiny at the same time :) He is growing up fast!
Chilling out on a pillow
Helping Daddy wash & clean out the cars...or maybe just car...not sure if he washed mine :)
While they were washing the cars, I was inside doing stuff around the house. The next thing I know, Walt is bringing in a drenched Jackson. Apparently, Walt had tucked the water hose in some bushes and Jackson climbed in there and got it and proceeded to hose himself down. I took off his clothes and he took off in his diaper. He thought it was so funny!
So proud of himself :)
I know the other ball is in here somewhere....
Our sweet boy is growing up fast! He is such a blessing and we are so thankful for him. So glad we get to celebrate our 2nd Thanksgiving with our little guy! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

First Birthday & More

Jackson turned one year on Saturday, November 6th. Both his grandparents came in town to celebrate. He is a lucky little boy to have such wonderful grandparents! He had a lot of fun. Poor guy started running fever the day after his birthday and wasn't feeling good at all. He didn't have any cold symptoms so we aren't sure what caused his fever. He even had his one year appointment on Monday and the doctor wasn't sure what was causing his fever either. He finally started feeling a better on Thursday.
-
Here are Jackson's one year stats.
Height: 29 3/4 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 21lbs 4.5oz (25th-50th percentile)

Here is what Jackson has been up to...
* He says "mama", "dada", and "ball". He says "k" for cracker & car. We think he said "Papa" when my dad was here because he practices the "p" sound with his puppy.
* He likes playing hide and seek (i.e. you hide and he comes and finds you). He also likes playing "where's puppy" (i.e. you hide his puppy and he finds it). He plays "where's Jackson" or "where is it" with his toys.
* He is a very loving little boy. He loves giving you hugs & kisses and is very affectionate with his stuffed animals. He loves stuffed animals. He also loves reading and playing outside.
* Jackson is still signing "more" and "all done". He has signed "please" a few times. I need to work with him on other words.

See below for pictures from the week before his birthday, his party, and the week after his birthday.

Jackson likes to "dance" with mama :)

Family picture on Jackson's birthday...I had planned on him wearing something else, but I washed it and it shrank so much that he couldn't even wear it! Bummer! Most of his other clothes were too big so I went shopping with my mom the next day. Oh well...he still looked cute!
Jackson with Walt's parents
One of Walt's friends from high school lives about 40 minutes away and he and his wife, Andrea, and their baby boy, Sutton, were sweet enough to come to Jackson's party. Here are the boys with their boys :)
At the last minute I decided to have Jackson's cake made. The inspiration was his birthday invitations.
Jackson was not sure about his cupcake at first.
But once we gave him a fork...he got the hang of it!
The happy birthday boy

Sutton was such a trooper. He didn't get in his nap before the party, but he did great!

Walt's parents got Jackson this drum and he loves it! See how determined he is! He got lots of fun toys, but I will resist the urge to attach all of those pictures :)
Sweet face
Walt's parents also got Jackson this Rangers hat. Jackson actually leaves it on!
