Despite sickness, the cuteness prevails!

As I mentioned in my last post, Jackson got sick for the first time! He had a little cold that turned into an ear infection this week. Thankfully, we caught it early because by the time he started getting really fussy, he was already on antibiotics. He is doing much better now.

Hard to believe this picture was from the same day he would barely let me put him down without him crying. Even sick he is too cute!

Jackson is really good at taking his reflux medicine, but he does not like his antibiotic for the ear infection. So I have to take off his clothes when I give it to him because he spits it out. I keep trying to use my fingers to get it back in his mouth! As you can see from this picture, he usually wins the battle. I hope he is getting enough to make him better! P.S. The medicine is pink...so look closely...yes, you are seeing it right...it is all over his face and neck...

It was pointed out to me that I have more pictures of Jackson with Walt than I have of Jackson & I. Since I am the "photographer" of the family, I took this picture of Jackson & I. If you enlarge the picture, you might see the bruise on my face. In almost 31 years, I have never had a cavity, but on Monday I had to get 2 fillings! The dentist says that is normal after a pregnancy...it is so weird all the ways your hormones can affect you!!!! Anyways, my face was swollen and I had a bruise on the side of my face (cheek closest to Jackson). It is Sunday and it is still there, but it has turned into a yellowish color! Walt keeps making fun of me! So pretty!!!

Jackson sporting his overalls! Don't tell Walt, but they might be girl overalls. I bought them at Wal-Mart for $6. But overalls are gender neutral, right :) *UPDATE* I just found the receipt and it says boys overalls...phew, that was close :)

Our Tough Little Guy

I have an update to my previous post. You know how I mentioned that Jackson was a little fussy...well, on Friday I had called the nurse at my pediatrician's office because Jackson had a slight cough and was a little out of sorts. She told me to be on the look out for an ear infection. He started coughing a little bit more and he was pulling at his ear so we went in today and he does have an ear infection and the doctor said his throat was red. Poor little guy! It just breaks my heart! Fortunately we have one tough cookie! He is a little bit fussy and tired, but the doctor says he seems to be handling it well. So we got him some medicine and are giving him some Tylenol to help with his discomfort as the doctor recommended! Hopefully he will be feeling better soon!

Just being cute...

Jackson decided to start rolling over again this week (see previous post), but other than that...nothing too exciting happened this week in Jackson's life...just another week of him being super cute!!! Poor thing has been a little fussy the last few days...not quite sure why...always the guessing game! However, needless to say, we are incredibly grateful for the blessing of our sweet little boy!!!

Jackson & I greeted Walt in the driveway when he got home from work! So Jackson had to put on his sweatshirt because it was a little chilly. Towards the end of the week, the weather warmed up and he was sporting a onesie!

Sometimes I find Jackson like this in his swing. Obviously it doesn't bother him, but pretty soon I won't be able to walk out of the room when he is in his swing. Maybe I shouldn't be right now...oops!

"Bad Mommy" Updated

Ok...I have some updates to yesterday's blog.

-

1. The scratch on Jackson's forehead was pretty much gone this morning so obviously it wasn't that bad, but look what happened again today. I guess it wasn't the zipper on my hoodie and Jackson is scratching his face. He got his forehead again and his nose. Strangely enough, I feel like I clip his nails at least once a week...I had even clipped his nails this morning. What can you do :) At least it doesn't seem to bother him at all!

2. I remembered to hit record & I got some videos of Jackson rolling over!

"Bad Mommy" Kind of Day

If you follow my blog, you know that I usually post on Sunday / Monday each week. Well...today I am blogging because I have had 2 bad mommy moments!

1. As I mentioned in earlier posts, Jackson rolled over around week 12, but hasn't done it since. Well, he rolled over today from his back to his stomach several times. So I decided to get out the video camera...and you guessed it...just like last time, I forgot to hit record! He even did a double roll and I was so happy I got it until I went to look at my video and had nothing!!!!

2. Somehow Jackson's forehead got scratched. Literally, one minute I am looking at him and he is fine and the next minute he has this long scratch across his forehead. The only thing I can figure out is that he must have scratched it on the zipper of my hoodie. I guess it didn't bother him since he didn't make a peep, or did it??? (obviously it's not that bad because it is kind of hard to see, but you can really see it in the last picture)

The title of this post is inspired by one of the videos from this week. Walt turned on some music and the song "This is why I'm hot" came on and Jackson got all sorts of excited! It is pretty cute! I hope it's not a sign of his taste in music :)

4 Months and More!

It is hard to believe that our precious baby boy is 4 months old! He had his 4 month appointment today and he is doing great! The shots were traumatic for both Jackson and I...I am not sure who had more tears flowing, but we are just so thankful that Jackson is a healthy boy! Here are his stats :)

Believe it or not...Walt didn't take these pictures! I did! Jackson had a blow out diaper and I put him in his swing while I was trying to clean up the mess :) I thought he was too cute not to take his picture!

When I wash Jackson's hair, I have to brush it afterwards b/c otherwise it does something like this! And no matter how much you try, you cannot get it to lay flat unless you wash his hair again! Note: the night before Walt had given him a bath and washed his hair, but didn't brush it so it dried like this!

We had surprise visitors this weekend! Mimi and Pat came for a visit! They were on a road trip to Florida and decided to make a last minute change and come to Charlotte to meet Jackson! Jackson was so glad to meet them!
