Daddy's Little Boy

It has officially happened. Jackson has transitioned from Mommy's Little Boy to Daddy's Little Boy. I must admit, this makes me a little sad...at the same time, I knew it was only a matter of time as Jackson got older. I didn't know it would happen so soon, but then again, our sweet boy is growing up :) Don't get me wrong...Jackson still loves his mama, but he LOVES hanging out with his Daddy! Whether it's watching football, hanging out in the garage, watering the yard, playing, or even snuggling with Daddy after his nap...Jackson LOVES his Daddy. Thankfully he still has time for his mommy and I still get a lot of hugs and kisses :)
-
Unfortunately, our sweet boy is sick. He started running fever and having cold like symptoms on Wednesday. On Friday, his temperature was around 103 and I took him to the doctor to make sure there wasn't something else going on. Thankfully his tubes are working and his ears looked great, but he did have some spots on his throat and the doctor said he might have hand, foot, and mouth as you run a high fever with it. Jackson still doesn't have any blisters on his hands or feet so I guess he just has a bad cold...who knows...but poor thing is still running fever.
-
Despite being sick, Jackson still helped Daddy water the plants :) He kept putting the water hose in his mouth that had grass and leaves on it which is why his face is a mess :)
We didn't take many pictures this week since he wasn't feeling well...you can even tell in this picture that he wasn't feeling super great :(
Here is a picture of Jackson's crazy hair after we washed it. Makes me think of Albert Einstein. Walt says it kind of looks like the hair on one of those troll dolls. Regardless, this picture proves that Jackson needs a haircut :) It is slightly out of control :)

Nice and clean and combed! Such a sweet face!!!!!
Helping mommy unload the groceries :)
Jackson walking around pulling the phone. He loves playing with this phone!

One Nap or Two? That is the question...

Jackson is trying to decide whether he is still a 2 nap a day baby or a 1 nap a day baby :) Crazy!!! As you can imagine, the 1 nap days are tricky :)
-
Jackson is walking all over the place. In fact, he impressed the workers at church this morning! Mainly because we inadvertently dropped him off at the wrong class :) We usually go to the 8:15am service which apparently combines a couple of age ranges, but Jackson woke up a little bit later this morning and so we went to the 9:30am service. We dropped him off at the room that we usually leave him and when we picked him up they were talking about how well he walked...especially when they learned that he was only 10 months. However, we also found out that he was in the 0-6month room...so they don't see many walkers :) Apparently, more people come to the later services and so we should have taken him to a different room. Lesson learned next time we go to the later service! But regardless, they said Jackson did great and were very nice to us about our blunder :)
-
Jackson LOVES being outside! Here are some pictures of Jackson playing on the deck!

This was the first day that Jackson only took 1 nap. You can tell how tired he is!!!! But he was happy :)
He loves Cheerio's!
He was almost delirious!

Our sweet boy!
Same outfit, different day. It is still fairly warm and Jackson has outgrown a lot of his clothes for this type of weather. But since weather is about to get cooler, we are just doing more laundry vs. buying new clothes that he wouldn't be able to wear much longer!
-
We bought a tv cabinet to hold the tv in the playroom. Jackson "helped" Walt put it together and then he "helped" him pack it back up into the box. Unfortunately, it wasn't very sturdy and we were worried about Jackson's safety.

We went to the park yesterday. Although it doesn't look like it, Jackson had a lot of fun :) He was grinning from ear to ear swinging, but my camera is not as good as my mom's and so I couldn't catch it! So I got this picture instead. Jackson was in a trance watching some kids play on the playground!
Jackson got really dirty "helping" Walt water plants. So Walt just hosed him down in the baby pool :)
He looks very "concerned" in this pictures, but I think he was just tired of me taking pictures :) He was having a blast with his Daddy! Too bad I didn't capture it!
Jackson was pretty hungry after helping his Daddy....so we gave him a snack and as you can tell he was super excited about it :)

Here is a video of Jackson walking around the kitchen. He does some of his best walking in the kitchen :) He just walks round and round the island carrying stuff.

Our Happy Boy

We had another great week with our sweet little boy! Walt was out of town this weekend so it was just Jackson and I. So I had to take him to church for the first time by myself. I usually make Walt do the pass off because I don't want Jackson to see me upset if he is getting upset. So today I had to put my brave face on. He was clinging to me (and Dougie) and he started to cry during the pass off, but fortunately they were able to distract him and he stopped before he could really start. When I went to pick him up...I couldn't believe it! He was on the floor playing with another baby...well, as much as babies can play together. Every other time we have picked him up, someone was holding him or pushing him around in a stroller. The nursery workers said he did great. They said he threw Dougie on the ground and started playing! Way to go, Jackson! Thank You, Lord for helping him!

This is what I get to see everyday...I am so blessed!
Jackson testing out his tamborine skills :)
On this particular day, I had put Jackson down for his 2nd nap in his crib, but as soon as I put him down, he had a dirty diaper. After changing him and the sheets, he was really wired and it was getting late in the day and I didn't want to put him down again in fear that he would cry for a long time. So I called my mom and she suggested we go on a walk and thankfully it worked :)
Sweet face
I love his expression...I just wish I knew what he was thinking...or maybe I don't :)
Care to take a guess on who taught him to do this? Yes, he is hitting himself in the head with a bowling pin and no, I didn't teach him!
Our walking boy!
multi-tasking...walking and drinking at the same time :)
Playing on the deck...Jackson's new favorite past-time!
I love it...he is constantly pointing out things and "telling" us about them
It was time for Jackson's nap when we left to pick up Walt at the airport. Fortunately, he fell asleep in the car and slept for about an hour. When Jackson woke up from his nap in the car, he was soooo excited to see his Daddy. He kept smiling at me and looking at me as if to say, "Can you believe it?" After going in the house, Walt and Jackson went in the playroom and I was messing around in the kitchen and I noticed that it was quiet in the playroom. I went and looked in there and this is what I saw. So precious!!! Do you think he missed his Daddy :) Oh, and yes, that is Dougie's tail sticking out from under Jackson :)
Walt had to water some things in the front yard and Jackson wanted to help :)
He was drenched and dirty
See how dirty his bottom is :)
So much fun to help Daddy in the yard! Notice the dirt ALL over his face!
Here is another video of Jackson walking. It is amazing...each day he gets better and better!

Better late than never :)

Here are all of the pictures / video from my parent's visit that I intended to post earlier this week, but couldn't due to technical difficulties :) I know, I know...overkill on the pictures, but trust me when I say that there were a ton....so this is the summarized version :) I will probably post this week's pictures / videos on Sunday. I can't believe how much he has progressed with his walking in such a short amount of time. He is probably walking 90-95% of the time now! Crazy! He still falls a lot, but it doesn't phase him...he just gets right back up!
-
See previous post for what Jackson is up to these days. Although I forgot to mention one of my favorite things. I love it when Jackson puts his little hands on my face to pull me in and he gives me a kiss! Or when I get him from his nap and he hugs my neck and kisses me! Precious! Oh and he is definitely signing "more" and "all done". Time to expand our signing vocabulary! Although I am beginning to think that sometimes when he signs "more"...that he is saying "yes". Because if I ask him if he wants more, he claps his hands. If I ask him if he is "all done", sometimes he claps his hands and then signs "all done". If I ask him if he wants to go outside or take a bath or whatever, he claps his hands. Obviously I am analyzing this way too much and giving him too much credit...regardless, we are communicating in some capacity :)
-
Jackson's "concerned / questioning" look
As mentioned in my previous post, Jackson LOVES books. He loves to read a book over and over again. He keeps clapping his little hands together (that is how he signs more).
-
Reading with Mommy
Reading with Daddy
Reading with Nonni
Reading with Papa
Just hanging out
Jackson is very serious / intense about this leaf :)
to walk or crawl...that is the question
Another thing that Jackson loves to do is wait for Daddy to come home from work. Walt calls us when he gets close and Jackson and I wait outside for Walt to drive up. Jackson gets soooo excited. When he sees his car coming, he starts pointing and smiling and kicking his feet...it is so cute! Since my mom was in town, she was able to take a couple of pictures!
-
Jackson and I waiting
Jackson looking at Nonni as if to say...do you see him....can you believe it?!?
Jackson waving at Walt...love that his little hand is facing him instead of outwards
Did I mention that Jackson is advanced :) Yes, he already knows how to drive :) This is part of the reason Jackson gets so excited! I hand him to Walt and he "helps" Walt drive into the garage. Jackson thinks he is hot stuff :)
Looking both ways...j/k...making sure we are all looking at him :)
Jackson is working on another tooth...hence the drool :)
sweet face
Jackson testing our babyproofing :)
Ready for bed

Jackson loves looking out our windows. Sometimes I sit and look out the window with him and point out things. He gets super excited when Daddy is working in the yard. He bangs on the window and Walt waves at him and Jackson gets even more excited. I didn't realize my mom was taking this, but I think it is a neat picture.
Lunch time with Nonni
Hanging out with Nonni
Practicing our walking skills
walking on his own
Jackson and I...love his grin!
Jackson and I...again, I love his grin!
Jackson loves being "startled" so we thought he might like a "Jack In The Box". Let's just say he had a "love-hate relationship" with it :)
-
Jackson trying to figure it out.
"I'm not so sure about this"
"Wow"
"So fun!"
Jackson loves throwing balls. He also likes it when you throw and catch the ball with him!
So much fun!
My nieces, Anna Grace and Abigail, made beautiful stain glass windows out of coffee filters. I put them on the window in the playroom. I didn't think Jackson would even notice them, but when he woke up from his nap he noticed them immediately. He kept pointing at the window and "telling" me about them.
Here is a picture of the stain glass. Aren't they pretty?
Jackson loving on Dougie
Look at that sweet face
My parents and I took Jackson to the park. This was his first time down the slide.
Such a happy boy!
So fun!
He loved the slide!

Jackson practicing his driving skills

I love the expression on his face!
Swinging is so much fun!
Jackson LOVES his Daddy
My mom took this picture of the back of our house. I thought it was a neat picture because you could see the Texas flag :)
Jackson & I...I love how he laid his head on my shoulder...so sweet!
Jackson and Nonni
Walt & I before our date :) Would you believe that this is the first time Walt and I have been out without Jackson since he was born. It wasn't intentional that we wait this long, but just lack of opportunity. Although Aunt Alex and Uncle Jim have offered to babysit so we might get another chance to go out again soon! We put Jackson to bed and then went out for dessert and my parents stayed with Jackson. We had a really nice time! Walt is truly the perfect man for me and I am so thankful that God blessed me with him as my husband!
Jackson hanging out with the guys in the garage doing "guy" stuff :) He loves being in the garage with his Daddy while he works on projects. Notice how both Walt's and my Dad's back are to Jackson...hmm, maybe that is why Jackson likes it so much :) Lack of supervision :)

Here is video from last week of Jackson throwing a ball and walking.
