First Road Trip & More!

Jackson had a big week! He went on his first road trip! Walt's parents came to visit and we took them to the Biltmore. Unfortunately, you won't see any pictures of the Biltmore b/c it was super cold! Apparently, the wind chill was zero degrees! So needless to say we weren't going to stand around and take pictures and you aren't able to take pictures on the inside! Nevertheless, Jackson did great! Here are some pictures & videos from this week.
-
Jackson playing on his gym mat (note the crazy hair)
Jackson with Walt's parents
Jackson with Walt & I
(p.s. I know my hair looks terrible, but I have to pull it back...otherwise my hair is always in Jackson's face!)
I took some pictures of Jackson in the car.

Recently he has started chewing on his burp cloths. I thought this was a sweet picture!
Jackson did great in the car...but I would not say he was excited about it!
We stopped to grab lunch so I let Jackson stretch his legs while we were waiting for the food. If you zoom in on the picture, Jackson kind of looks like the pig on the cup. Did I really just say that :) Obviously, I am referring to the "waving around" of the arms :)
Free at last! Jackson was excited to be home. See the wet area under his chin. I am sure it is a lovely combination of spit up and drool :)
Walt's dad was so sweet. He got these beautiful flowers for me!
I can't figure out how to attach it where it is right side up...oh well!
In a recent post, I mentioned that Jackson had learned to suck on his thumb and pointer finger. Now most of the time, he only sucks on his thumb. He was sleepy in these pictures!

Another picture of the crazy hair :) Static electricity and Jackson's hair don't mix :)
Another picture of his bald spot! It has gotten worse!
Here are the videos from this week. I know, I know...I went a little crazy this week. I don't expect you to look at all of these...so just pick one :)

Catepillars and A&M pride

Much to my dismay, I accidentally dropped my camera on our slate floors this week. I was going up the stairs and the strap got caught on the railing...yanking the camera out of my hands! It landed on the lens and now my zoom doesn't work right causing my pictures to be blurry! We hope to get it fixed, but if not, we will definitely have to buy a new one b/c I seriously take at least one picture of Jackson every day! Fortunately, my mom had given me her old camera to carry around in my diaper bag (just in case Jackson did something super cute while I was out & about!). The picture quality is not quite as good, but I am just so thankful to still be able to take pictures of our little guy until we figure out the camera situation :)

As you can tell, Jackson is super excited that I have a back-up camera!
As some of you may know, Jackson's name is a family name. He is named after his uncle Jack (who goes by Jack, but his full name is Jackson). It is neat b/c Walt is also named after one of his uncles and I have always loved the name Jackson. In addition, Jackson's middle name is my maiden name and also Walt's dad's middle name. Pretty cool, huh? Anyways, Jackson's uncle Jack got him an awesome gift! He got him some A&M onesies! Jack requested that I post some pics of Jackson sporting one of his A&M onesies! Truth be told, I didn't think Jackson could fit in it yet, otherwise I would have put them on sooner! Guess my little guy is growing up!
Gig'em Aggies!
Jackson loves his caterpillar that he got for Christmas. See below for pictures & video.

If you have made it this far in the post, I have a prayer request. It may seem silly, but I was hoping that you could pray for Jackson's sleeping. He has such a tough time sleeping...especially during the day. I know this isn't necessarily a unique situation for a baby, but he is my baby and therefore, I of course want everything to be easy for him :) We have been working on his naps for awhile now. He has this "timer" that goes off at 30 minutes and he cannot get himself back to sleep. I would be fine if that was truly all he needed, but when he wakes up he is obviously still tired and wants to be asleep. It is so sad...his eyes are all red and he even has circles under his eyes. Don't get me wrong, we are so blessed to have a happy & healthy little boy! We thank God daily for that! But if you could just pray for wisdom & guidance for Walt & I to know how best to proceed to help Jackson get the sleep he needs and pray that God would help Jackson...I would really appreciate it! Again, I know it seems silly, but this is my job now...24/7...and sleeping is a huge part of our day!!!! Thank you!

First Plaid Sighting , Laughing, & More Snow

Jackson started talking even more this week and he has started laughing! It is so cute! He is also really good at getting his hands in his mouth. He is close to sucking on his thumb, but right now he usually puts his thumb and his pointer finger in his mouth.

Our sweet boy
Jackson's aunt, Mary Pat, got him this outfit before he was born. Jackson is wearing a lot of different sizes right now depending whether the outfit runs big or small (3 month, 3-6 months, and even some 6 month outfits). I wanted to make sure that he tried this outfit on before he outgrew it. Luckily, he definitely has plenty of room to grow into it.
I thought this was cute! Jackson was "hypnotized" by his pants!
I got Jackson these overalls on clearance at Gymboree.
We had more snow on Friday night, but it didn't stick. This was taken on Saturday and you can already see it melting.
As I mentioned above, Jackson has started laughing. I tried to capture it on video and the easiest way to do that was to try and tickle him. It takes me a minute to find the tickle spot :) I apologize that you have to hear me talking, too! He will also laugh sometimes when you are talking to him and / or singing to him, but that is hard for me to get on camera by myself. He is so much fun and such a sweet boy!

Three Months Old

Jackson turned 3 months old on Saturday. Walt & I thank God daily for the incredible blessing we have in Jackson! Here are some sweet pictures of our precious little boy!

Jackson with his elephant.
Here is Jackson "eating" the caterpillar we gave him for Christmas.
Jackson was trying to roll over in this picture. See below for a video of his efforts :) He did actually roll over this week from his back to his stomach & back, but I didn't catch it on video. As soon as he starts doing it regularly, I will be sure to post a video.
Jackson talking to his daddy.
Walt was trying to take a picture of Jackson and I. We didn't have much luck...there were several "out-takes" including this one, but I thought this picture was kind of cute b/c we are both smiling at Walt as evidenced by us looking up :)
My best friend, Jennifer, came to visit this last weekend! It was so good to see her and introduce her to Jackson! Jackson loved her! I forgot to take pictures until the last day of her visit...so unfortunately Jackson was pretty sleepy in these pictures. Jennifer & Jackson

Here is the video of Jackson trying to roll over. Please ignore the commentary :) As I mentioned above, of course I missed it when he actually rolled over. Oh well :) Better luck next time!

I know I have lots of videos of Jackson talking, but this week he has really started "talking" a lot! So I couldn't resist attaching another video of his sweet little voice!
