Two Week Catch Up

Jackson is finally feeling better....yay!!!! Just in time to make our trip to Texas :) We fly out tomorrow morning. Please say a prayer for us...I am just trying to imagine how I am going to make my very active 1 year old content while sitting in my lap for 3 hours :) Hopefully we will be travelling with understanding people :) At least on our flight back we will have Walt with us. But tomorrow it is just Jackson & I!

Our happy boy is back!
Peaking under the dining room chair
Reaching for the camera
He still loves chewing on tags
He learned how to climb on his scooter...now we just need to learn how to move forward consistently :)
Playing with the bowling pins
I am not sure how this is possible, but he still appears to be teething. He has 11 teeth already!
A grin behind the fingers
Note the 2 drops of drool on his chin :)
Some of Jackson's Christmas presents came early so that we wouldn't have to worry about getting them back with us from Texas. So we let him open up a couple of his gifts ahead of time to spread out the opening of gifts. He got this cool dump truck with blocks from either cousin Henry or Margaret (aka Aunt Rebekah)...the Louis cousins draw names. Such an awesome gift! He LOVES it!

Jackson thought it was fun taking a picture...he kept clapping more :)
My parents got Jackson this cool cubed toy. Jackson is inspecting it and trying to figure it out.
fyi...he just came in from outside which is why he is wearing his coat and shoes :) we don't get to spend much time outside now because it is so cold.
So much fun!
Mom...are you seriously taking another picture?
Walt had the idea for me to bring Jackson downtown to see the Singing Bears. Note to self for next year...they only play on the hour and we just arrived right after a performance. Jackson was close to needing a nap so we couldn't stay for the next performance. But he still loved seeing them and exploring the building.
Our big boy having fun!
Looking out the window and pointing at the cars going by
Going up and down the escalator with Daddy...who needs Singing Bears :)

Jackson and Walt in front of the Christmas tree. Such great pictures of my boys!
Jackson did not want to let go of Daddy to take a picture with Mommy...he was so excited to see Daddy during the work day!
Hot stuff!
Since Jackson is down to one nap a day, he usually has "rest" time in the late afternoon. Here is Jackson with "puppy" sitting in his chair and watching a video.

This is a video of Jackson "talking". His words are "ball", "car", "mama", and "dada". He makes the "k" sound for cracker, the "ch" sound for cheese, the "t" sound for teeth, the "p" sound for puppy, and the "d" sound for Dougie.

Jackson is laughing in this video! I love his laugh! We were playing basketball (i.e. I would attempt to make a basket from a distance and he would walk up and make a basket). I actually made a shot and I said "Nothing but net!". Jackson thought it was hilarious. The more I said it, the more he laughed. He had already been laughing for a good 2 minutes before I thought to try and video him.

Christmas cards

Just wanted to let ya'll know that I couldn't get my act together on Christmas cards this year. I was trying to get a family picture when my parents were in town, but the only one we got was from his birthday party and it was not Christmas card material :) Then I decided to just do a picture of Jackson, but then he got sick and therefore I wasn't taking any pictures. Then he got better, but then he fell down outside and scraped his nose. I have finally given up because we are leaving in a week and there is no way I can pull it off. So hopefully next year :)

I know that I usually post pictures, etc. on Sunday, but as mentioned above, I haven't gotten a lot of pictures. So I will do a 2 week post next weekend! Have a great week!

Pink or Blue?

As some of you already know and / or have guessed from the title of this post, we are expecting another baby! We are still in shock as it was quite a different experience from last time...it happened very quickly :) We couldn't be happier and have no doubts that this is the timing that God has planned for our family! My due date is June 25, 2011...so I am 12 weeks and already showing! I was going to wait and share the news after the first trimester ended (13 weeks), but my belly is spreading the news...ready or not :) I heard the heart beat again this week...so amazing! That little heart was beating fast at 170bpm! We are so blessed and so thankful to be able to witness another miracle! Please pray for the little one growing inside me and the little one running all over our house :) We appreciate all of your prayers!

Sorry, but this is the only picture I have to document this post :)

No fun kind of week

The little guy did not have a good week. He started off the week getting 4 shots in the midst of 3 teeth coming in (2 molars and another one on bottom). So he is about to have 11 teeth :) The shots and Jackson did not get along :( He ran fever and would hardly eat. Thankfully he would snack on Cheerio's and still drink his milk, but that is it. Then on Thursday, his fever started spiking and we went back to the doctor and apparently he picked up a virus while we were in there on Monday getting the shots :( This is the worst Jackson has been sick. He would just sit there and lay on you and watch video after video. So needless to say I didn't take any pictures this week except for the one below. You can see how bad he feels :( He is still pretty grumpy, but today is the first day that he hasn't run any fever so hopefully he is turning the corner and will start eating and sleeping better soon.

This video was taken before the shots / fever / virus...Jackson "mowing the lawn" :)

Teething, Thanksgiving & Bobcats Game

Believe it or not, Jackson is getting more teeth :) He is getting his molars which his doctor said usually come in around 18 months or so...but not for Jackson...hence the drool on his shirt :)
He thought it was fun to sit in the plastic bin with some of his toys...oh, and yes, his hair is out of control again. So he got another haircut the day before Thanksgiving.
Love his expression :)
Jackson's hair can get out of control after his naps
After our Thanksgiving meal, we went to the park. Thought this was a cool picture that Walt took.
Our happy boy
This looks like a forced grin :)
Walt showing Jackson how to ride the whale.
At first Jackson was a little unsure, but then he decided it was fun!
Good times at the park!
So fun!
Our big boy about to go down the slide
It was just the three of us for Thanksgiving, but our friends stopped by on the way back from their meal with family friends. So we got a picture of our friend Sutton. We enjoyed our visit with the Murrs!
I hate that this isn't a clear picture, but Walt and Jackson were hanging out downstairs while I was upstairs. I came down to find Jackson walking around in his onesie and his slippers! Quite the look :)
Walt is sharing some season Bobcat tickets with some people from work. I tried to tell him that this wasn't very practical for parents of a one year old and that he was going to have to get people to go to the games with him. But Jackson and I went with him to the first game. He did great, although as you can imagine he did not last very long. I don't think Jackson and I will be invited back again :)
I love the little grin on his face...I can almost see him thinking...can you believe all this...wow :)
I hate that this picture wasn't clear, but was just so glad that someone offered to take our picture!
Jackson passing the time by reading a book.
Do you see the look of confusion / concern on his face when they dimmed the lights to introduce the team? It was super noisy. Thankfully he decided it was ok.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Low Key Week

Believe it or not...I actually didn't take many pictures this week. Well, actually...it's probably more accurate to say that I didn't "keep" many pictures this week. Jackson is a very active little boy and it is getting harder and harder to capture him on camera. Most of my pictures are of the back of his head :)
-
Jackson had another play date this week and he had fun. He is also doing better in the church nursery now that we have switched services. It seems he was not a fan of the early service (i.e. the lady in the early service). She was the nicest lady, but she always tried to hold him and that didn't work out too well. At the 9:30am service, they let him play and he seems to do really well.
-
Jackson all bundled up to go outside.
I wish this was a little clearer, but these days I take what I can get :)
He looks like a big boy, but also so tiny at the same time :) He is growing up fast!
Chilling out on a pillow
Helping Daddy wash & clean out the cars...or maybe just car...not sure if he washed mine :)
While they were washing the cars, I was inside doing stuff around the house. The next thing I know, Walt is bringing in a drenched Jackson. Apparently, Walt had tucked the water hose in some bushes and Jackson climbed in there and got it and proceeded to hose himself down. I took off his clothes and he took off in his diaper. He thought it was so funny!
So proud of himself :)
I know the other ball is in here somewhere....
Our sweet boy is growing up fast! He is such a blessing and we are so thankful for him. So glad we get to celebrate our 2nd Thanksgiving with our little guy! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
